Tier 3 IT Technician

Summary  

The purpose of the IT Technician to support, maintain, and update the information technology infrastructure.  

 

Tasks  

  1. System Performance 

  • Interact with employees to address and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner 

  • Enforce security standards, procedures, and guidelines across multiple platforms 

  • Assist with the execution of disaster recovery plans 

  1. Hardware and software  

  • Work with the Systems Engineer to evaluate and maintain existing hardware/software infrastructure, including, but not limited to, the deployment of new hardware/software and decommissioning of outdated hardware/software 

  • Assist with the monitoring and use of hardware/software to ensure compliance to company policy 

  • Coordinate execution of equipment rotation strategy 

  • Configure and deploy computers, cellphones and other devices as needed 

  • Maintain inventory of all IT equipment - software, hardware, telephone, printers, copiers, and other IT supplies 

  1. Education and Training 

  • Help provide software and hardware training classes to new hires and current employees 

  • Assist in the maintenance of a neat and organized electronic filing system for the office  

  • Create and maintain documents for long-term education of employees on the proper usage of technology 

  1. Network Administration 

  • Control network access of personnel as requested by management 

  • Maintain users and computers in Active Directory 

  • Regularly evaluate, update and test back-up procedures 

  • Implement changes to internal systems, process automation, and documentation procedures as requested by management 

  • Maintain company’s multiple contact distribution lists (phone, e-mail, contact cards) 

  • Assist with company’s social media strategy, policies. and procedures 

  • Assist employees with the electronic capture of training programs developed by Trio employees 

  • Maintain the structure and content of Trio’s e-university 

 

Skills & Abilities 

  • Proficient with various forms of computer hardware and software systems  

  • Experienced in computer troubleshooting, computer viruses and security 

  • Experienced in computer networks, network administration and network installation 

  • Ability to install and administer hardware/software 

  • Capable of managing multiple projects 

  • Organized, with a systematic approach to tasks, to achieve accuracy and efficiency 

  • Analytical with the ability to examine issues from multiple viewpoints 

  • Capable of considering potential actions and choosing the most appropriate one 

  • Excellent attention to details 

  • A self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented individual 

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with diverse personalities  

  • Quick, sharp, confident, assertive, and ethical 

  • Capable of managing one's own time 

  • Understands information generally contained in work-related documents 

 

Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or a similar computer-oriented major is desired though similar experience will be considered 

  • Minimum of 4 years of systems implementation experience 

  • Minimum of 4 years of client relationship management experience 

  • Four or more years in an IT profession. (Helpdesk, administration, Network engineer, Data Science, Systems architecture, Network Infrastructure…) 

  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing Windows Environment software and hardware.  

  • Knowledge of Virtual Environments (VMWare, Azure, …) 

  • Proficient with client relationships.  

  • Knowledge of Windows Server. 

  • Development skills ( .NET, UI Design, SQL, NoSQL) are a Plus, but not required.
