Summary (Overview of the job)

Task Crew Leaders to lead field on performance of tasks so that job phases are completed faster. Task Crew Leaders will manage crews on specific tasks in the field: wall rough-in, overhead rough-in, wire pulling, etc. These individuals will report to Project Leaders, but have a dotted line to a Task Field Leader they can refer problems to and use as a mentor. The Task Field Leader will serve as a guide for the Task Crew Leaders in conjunction with the Project Leader on their respective projects. The idea would be to create crews that are geared for specific tasks who would go from project to project performing their specialty task.

Tasks (Day to day work activities)

  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
  • Assist Project Leader in estimating, ordering material and evaluating worker requirements to complete jobs.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers.
  • Communicate with Project Leader, Task Field Leader and technical personnel, other teams, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports.
  • Assign tasks to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  • Plan layout and installation of all task related material based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Work scheduled hours including overtime and weekends. Respond to and work when requested by management. Arrive on time and leave at the end of the shift.
  • Follow safety rules and notify supervision or others when a safety hazard is observed.

Education & Experience (Level of learning and familiarity with the job)

Education - High school diploma or G.E.D. Vocational school diploma or certification.
